NASA has launched a time capsule to Jupiter’s satellite

There is also a “Drake equation” describing how many advanced civilisations could theoretically exist beyond our planet. METI has put a lot of effort into developing a comprehensible message to the “brothers in reason”, but even its authors note that even with the best outcome, it may not be properly interpreted by aliens if they ever stumble across it in the depths of space. And the message in the bottle won’t make sense not only to the aliens, but also to the people of the future. It’s just a time capsule for our distant descendants.
