Discovered dinosaur species named in honour of Viking god

Lokiceratops rangiformis was a herbivore, weighed up to 5.5 tonnes and grew to almost 7 metres in length. In many ways, the lizard was similar to Triceratops, but, unlike him, did not have a horn on the nose. At the same time, it was larger and heavier than its relatives. It was comparable in size to a very large modern elephant.
The fossilised fragments “told” scientists that there were no less than five species of different dinosaurs with horns in the area.
